YÖK Legislation in Education Abroad: What You Need to Know

Who wouldn't want to live in a different culture, improve their language skills, and most importantly, have an internationally valid diploma from universities ranked in the top 100 in the world? However, in this exciting process, we need to know the procedures and principles in the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) legislation.

Equivalence Regulation
In order for the diploma you received from a foreign higher education institution to be recognized in Turkey, the institution you studied must be recognized by YÖK. You can access the YÖK Recognition List at https://okultanima.yok.gov.tr/.

If the institution you have chosen is not on this list, you will need to apply to the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) for diploma equivalence certificate procedures.

Other Points to Consider

Completion of the documents required for permission to go abroad.
Preparation of necessary documents for visa application.
Travel health insurance.
Making research and plans on issues such as accommodation and transportation.
Learning the minimum language proficiency expectation of the relevant program you want to apply to.
